そんなまさかの英語日記 for study part3 【Are you kidding me??】in Noosa in Australia

This is a story about staying in a village for starting my first farming job. I had never heard about Noosa until I went there, but it was the one of the most beautiful villeges which I had ever been to in Australia. I had no idea where I was heading for at first. because my boss just told me to come to a city called"Tewantin" I did not know where it was. What I could do was to catch a GreyHound bus from GoldCoast to there....

About 1 months before I got the farm job, I was staying in Gold Coast. the city was not so big, but people here were different from perople from Perth(I had lived in Perth before GoldCoast). How could I describe?? It was more like easy-going mood than relaxed. The center of Gold Coast was called"Surfers Paradise"There were always full of tourists and teenagers until night and then, when it got dark, there were many drunk and crazy people as you can easily imagine.haha

you can hear people shouting from every direction in a street.haha  If you dont have any plan to do, I dont recommend you to go out alone at night for your safety. Here is not your country, so sometimes it happens. Please keep my word in your mind.

Anyway, I found a shareroom in Southport, it was a residential area near Surfers Paradise, so much quieter compared with. There were many Koreans at Southport.

In fact, my sharemates were 6 koreans and 3 japanese including me. The owner of the house was also a korean man. He was kind and good person living in Australia with permanet Visa. Most of Korean were  taking a course at TAFE(It is a kind of college specialized in learning proffessional skills. if you want to go there, you need to study  very hard. Its not easy to go.). What I wanted to say is they all had clear future visions like why they came to Australia and what they had to do to acheive thier goals. their mindset was more mature than mine.Of course, I also went to Australia to learn English though.

Beach was beautiful here, city was always crowded and busy. The mood was easy-going and it was like the city boys could go along with here but for me it was not. I felt uneasy and what was worse, I could not find any job. It was very tough time to be turned down when I visited many shops to handed my CV. I could not help it.

Before I came here, I already had another option to leave in cace i could not find any job. To be honest, I was shocked but I had no time to get sentimental because I had to keep going to live my life in Australia. I needed to chine up.

It took a long to explain my current situation ,but that was the reason why I had to left GoldCoast for Tewantin. I ddi not know why but I was always keeping in touch with japanese friends who had met in the language school in Perth and I was able to get a phone call from one of them. It was " I can get a farm job there." what a surprise news it was. It was short time before I decided to go .So I book a bus ticket on the Internet and then was planning to stop by a new destination.

while i was on the bus, I was contacting with a man called "Patric". He was the organizer who provides a job for backpackers. If the owners of the farm needs a hand, they call Patric and he tells us which job to take. so I did not know what kind job I was going to do.haha

In advance,I asked the bus driver to talk to me when we got to Tewantin beacause I did not want to skip the the bus stop. When I arrived there, There was no one waiting for me....did not say the time when I will arrive here??

Patrick said just wait for me in front of the bus stop.I would be there very soon.

I think I waited for 30 mins. A car approached and stopped. A tall australian man got off. When I was about to talk to him to say hello in English,

he salid "君がりょうすけ?"

What??Are you kidding me!?

he spoke very perfect Japanese..I was so surprised to hear that!!!😱

He took my luggage and we got into his car and I introduced myself in Japanese.

I said I'm ryosuke from Osaka bla bla bla. Then he looked confused and talked to me

"なんで君大阪出身やのに関西弁ちゃうの?俺のが全然関西弁やん。"

I just thought in mind

"知らんがな!そもそもあなたが日本語話せることすら知らんかったし!"😱

He explained to me that he used to live in Kobe for 10years and he got married with japanese. Then I understood. he took me to one of the sharehouses for backpackers

and my farming life was about to start very soon.〜to be continued〜✌🏻
